Job summary

BBC Finance and Operations invites applications for a twelve-month fixed-term attachment within the Group Finance Risk and Control team, supporting the ICFR Manager. The role focuses on implementing internal control over financial reporting, mapping processes and controls, and testing design and operating effectiveness.

The post is hybrid, with a London weighting allowance and flexible working options. A qualified or part-qualified accountant with ICFR, SOX or audit knowledge is required.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of ICFR / SOX frameworks and audit principles.
• Ability to identify financial reporting issues and associated risks.
• Ability to translate financial requirements for non-ICFR stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of a robust ICFR framework.
• Support process workshops to document in-scope financial statement lines, understand processes, risks and controls, and challenge process and control owners.
• Support walkthroughs and control design effectiveness testing, evidencing financial statement lines from transaction initiation through to the general ledger.
• Complete operational effectiveness testing, designing test plans and evidencing testing in line with audit principles.
• Support remediation of control deficiencies through subject matter expert support to control owners.
• Support ICFR reporting, ensuring accuracy for all relevant forums and committees.
• Support the annual ICFR attestation and certification process.
• Support the ICFR Manager in building understanding of financial reporting risk across the organisation and meeting BBC governance standards.
