EA First is recruiting a Financial Controller for a 15-month fixed-term contract, based in Southampton with travel to an Essex location about twice monthly. You will lead financial control across UK operations, reporting to senior finance leadership.

The ideal candidate holds a professional finance/accounting qualification, with a proven track record in financial control and strong knowledge of UK and international accounting standards.

Qualifications

• Professional finance/accounting qualification is required.
• Proven track record in finance and financial control.
• Strong knowledge of UK and international accounting standards.
• Significant management experience with leadership capability.
• Experience managing multiple complex financial issues and competing priorities.
• Ability to operate under tight deadlines with high accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing financial control across revenue, costs, capex, and cash flow.
• Ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting and strong accounting controls.
• Supporting statutory accounts, VAT, CIS and regulatory reporting.
• Managing internal/external audit activity and compliance with UK/intl standards.
• Driving improvements across finance systems, cash forecasting, and processes.
• Partnering with senior stakeholders to support performance and strategy.
• Managing banking relationships and funding needs.
• Leading and developing the Finance team to a high-performance culture.
