Job summary

Monzo is looking for a proactive professional to join the Finance team as a financial accountant. You will work across financial accounting, ledger integrity, and month-end close while collaborating with product teams to ensure accurate reporting.

The role offers hybrid working from London or Cardiff, a flexible approach to hours, and a generous learning budget to support ongoing development.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with 2+ years post-qualification experience.
• Strong understanding of technical accounting standards.
• Experience in a retail banking environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a tight month-end close process and group consolidation with Finance.
• Write insightful management commentary on business performance.
• Review accounting systems to maximise features and minimise manual reporting.
• Drive process improvements and adoption of AI in reporting.
• Develop reports using SQL to support scalable finance processes.
• Support year-end activities with external auditors and Financial Reporting squad.
• Review new products for accounting impact and implementation in banking platform.
