Job summary

Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Principal Financial Accountant to join the Finance Team. The role supports the Head of Financial Reporting & Control and delivers a reliable financial accounting service to Senior Managers and stakeholders.

You will ensure the integrity of the General Ledger, manage income, capital expenditure and balance sheet transactions, and prepare statutory accounts in line with national timetables.

Responsibilities

• Ensure integrity and accuracy of income, capital expenditure and balance sheet transactions in the General Ledger.
• Maintain adherence to Standing Orders, Standing Financial Instructions & Scheme of Delegation.
• Produce timely information for monitoring reports to the Board, ICB and NHS England, including capital reporting.
• Prepare and complete statutory accounts in line with DoH & Social Care requirements and timetables.
• Oversee Capital Accounting including Asset Management, Contract Income and Treasury Management.
• Support strategic decisions through financial judgement and effective communication.
