Counted is hiring a Senior Financial Accountant to own statutory reporting and balance sheet integrity across UK entities. This hands-on, technical role partners with the Finance Director and Head of Finance and is fully remote with very flexible working.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in financial reporting, strong UK GAAP and IFRS knowledge, and experience with month-end close, audits, and ERP systems such as Business Central.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in financial reporting required.
• Strong UK GAAP and IFRS knowledge required.
• Experience with month-end close and external audits essential.
• ERP experience (Business Central) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run the monthly close across UK entities, ensuring on-time, high standards.
• Own the balance sheet with thorough reconciliations and controls.
• Flag risks and opportunities to senior finance leadership.
• Lead external audits for UK companies from planning to sign-off.
• Lease accounting under IFRS 16 with facilities team.
• Main contact for parent group on statutory matters and reporting notes.
• Oversee cash across UK entities and maintain liquidity.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns on time.
• Sign off payment runs with proper controls.
• Support Legal and Compliance to maintain robust practices.
• Build relationships with auditors and HMRC and resolve queries.
• Keep stakeholders updated on control environment and audit planning.
• Stay current with accounting standards and maintain accuracy.
