Accountable Recruitment Limited is seeking a qualified Senior Financial Accountant to join a fast-growing business in North Liverpool. The role reports to the Head of Finance and requires ACA/ACCA qualification with audit and tax expertise, and experience leading a finance function.

The Senior Financial Accountant will own the month-end close, oversee financial reporting, tax compliance and external audits, while collaborating with senior leadership to drive improvements and strategic growth.

Formación

• ACA or ACCA qualification.
• Strong audit background, ideally gained within practice before moving into industry.
• Solid tax experience, including VAT and corporation tax exposure.
• Experience leading or managing external audits.
• Previous staff management or team leadership experience.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• A proactive approach with the confidence to identify improvements and drive change.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Maintain strong financial controls, balance sheet reconciliations and compliance procedures.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and key financial performance metrics.
• Take responsibility for UK tax compliance, VAT reporting and supporting corporation tax requirements.
• Lead the annual external audit process and act as the primary contact for auditors.
• Coordinate statutory accounts preparation and statutory filing requirements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Partner with stakeholders across the wider business to provide financial insight and analysis.
• Manage, mentor and develop members of the finance team

Are you on a short notice period / ACA / ACCA qualified and looking to join a fast-growing business?
If so a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a qualified Senior Financial Accountant to join a fast-growing, business based in North Liverpool. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this role will suit an ambitious ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with a strong background in audit, tax and financial control, who is looking to take ownership of a broad and highly visible finance function.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who trained in practice and has transitioned into industry, or someone looking to make your first move from a larger finance team into a more influential and hands-on leadership role.

The Role

As Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, strengthening controls and driving best practice across the finance function. You will work closely with senior leadership, providing technical expertise and commercial insight to support business growth and strategic decision making.

Key responsibilities will include:
