Job summary

Accountable Recruitment are delighted to partner with a large, values-driven organisation to recruit a Qualified Senior Financial Reporting Accountant. This role is based in Merseyside with a flexible remote working model and requires monthly attendance at the Merseyside office.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Controls, you will own the financial controls framework, oversee balance sheet integrity, statutory accounts, group consolidation and external audits, and provide expert guidance on UK

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified is required.
• Experience in financial accounting, controls, audit or statutory reporting.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards FRS 102.
• Experience producing consolidated group accounts and managing external audits.

• Maintain and develop the organisation's financial controls framework.
• Ensure balance sheet integrity and oversee monthly balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
• Lead the preparation and review of statutory accounts and financial statements.
• Manage consolidation of group and subsidiary accounts.

Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a large, well-established and values-driven organisation to recruit a Qualified Senior Financial Reporting Accountant.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a technically strong finance candidate to take ownership of a complex financial controls function within a sizeable organisation. The role will be pivotal in ensuring robust financial governance, statutory reporting compliance and a best-in-class control environment, while supporting strategic growth initiatives and organisational development.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Controls, you will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, providing expertise on financial reporting, compliance, treasury and audit matters.

This role offers a flexible remote working model, with attendance at the Merseyside office required once a month.

The Role

• Maintaining and developing the organisation's financial controls framework


• Ensuring balance sheet integrity and overseeing monthly balance sheet and cash flow reporting


• Leading the preparation and review of statutory accounts and financial statements


• Managing the consolidation of group and subsidiary accounts


• Coordinating external audits and managing auditor relationships


• Overseeing regulatory and compliance reporting requirements, including HMRC and other statutory submissions


• Leading treasury accounting activities, liquidity reporting and cash flow forecasting


• Supporting acquisitions, mergers and business integration projects from a finance perspective


• Driving process improvements, automation initiatives and financial control enhancements


• Providing clear technical accounting guidance and financial insights to senior stakeholders


• Leading, mentoring and developing a high-performing finance team


• ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified


• Experience within financial accounting, financial controls, audit or statutory reporting


• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards FRS 102


• Experience producing consolidated group accounts and managing external audit processes
