Hays Accountancy and Finance South Yorkshire are working with a public sector organisation in Rotherham.
Due to an internal change, the role is immediately available for an enthusiastic and innovative candidate to step in.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support the efficient and effective delivery of strong financial management within a public sector organisation.
Key duties include supporting the Finance Manager and overseeing the work of the finance officers in post.
You will ensure all financial records are maintained to a high standard and in accordance with guidance, regulations, professional standards, and deadlines set within the organisation.
This role offers an opportunity to lead in areas such as budget monitoring, audits, budget setting, and year-end processes.
You should have at least a GCSE level education with 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Maths. Additionally, you need three years’ experience in a similar role within a finance department, experience managing budgets and audits, and producing financial reports such as income and expenditure reports. Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to develop good working relationships with external organisations are essential.
You must be AAT qualified or working towards a senior accounting qualification.
37 hours per week
£17+ per hour
Paid holidays (minimum of 28 days plus public holidays)
