Responsible to: Head of Reporting – Europe

Department: Head of Finance - Supply Chain Logistics

Location: Bury, Gtr Manchester. BL9 8RR

The Senior Finance Manager will be part of the Supply Chain finance team, managing the UK and European supply chain expenditure, including Opex budget setting and cost control, and reporting to ensure best practices across JD Group's supply chains. The role requires influencing and managing remote teams, fostering collaboration to meet group goals.

The individual must build strong relationships across Business Units, Partners, and Suppliers to meet KPIs and budgets, emphasizing continuous improvement and expenditure management while delivering excellent customer service. The role involves managing part of a £400m+ expenditure, with a focus on detailed analytics and translating insights into actionable plans.

The attitude of 'it is my money' should underpin expenditure control.

Role Overview:

The role involves managing financial plans, setting budgets, and understanding key cost drivers and service metrics to adopt best practices across JD's global operations. Continual process improvement and deploying financial analytics tools are part of the role's evolution.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

• Partner with key business units to interpret performance and provide insights
• Build financial models for decision-making
• Manage stakeholder relationships and expectations
• Produce management accounts, variance analysis, and Board reports
• Handle budgeting and forecasting for distribution centers
• Generate performance reports regularly
• Conduct root cause analysis of spend and budgets
• Build relationships with finance and operational teams
• Serve as point of contact for Logistics Finance inquiries
• Challenge non-finance professionals constructively
