Responsible to: Head of Finance - Supply Chain Logistics

Operational Environment:

The Senior Finance Manager will be part of the Supply Chain finance team, managing UK and European supply chain expenditure, including Opex budget setting and cost control, and ensuring best practice financial disciplines across JD Group's supply chain facias (NAM/APAC/MIG/ISRG). The role requires influencing and managing remote teams, fostering collaboration towards group supply chain goals.

This individual must build strong relationships with Business Units, Partners, and Suppliers to meet service level KPIs and budgets. Continuous improvement and financial analytics are key components of the role, which involves managing expenditure of over £400m across UK and Europe, with detailed analytics and actionable insights.

A mindset of prudent expenditure control, with a focus on accountability, is essential.

Role Overview:

The role involves managing and challenging financial plans, setting and overseeing budgets across UK and Europe, understanding key cost drivers, and ensuring best-in-class processes and reporting are adopted globally within JD.

Continuous improvement and deployment of financial analytics tools will be part of the role's evolution.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Partner with key business units to interpret performance and provide analytical insights.
2. Build advanced financial models for data-driven decision-making.
3. Manage stakeholder relationships, anticipating and interpreting requirements.
4. Produce monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and board reports.
5. Handle budgeting and forecasting for distribution centers with ongoing financial analysis.
6. Generate weekly and monthly performance reports timely.
7. Conduct root cause analysis of spend and budgets to support operations.
8. Develop strong relationships with finance and operational teams.
9. Serve as the primary contact for logistics finance inquiries on site.
10. Challenge non-finance professionals in daily operations and senior meetings.
