The ideal candidate will focus on the monthly accounting and reporting cycle, cost control, and forecasting. They should have great initiative and be able to consider the big picture. Strong prioritization skills and qualities associated with being a supportive manager with a growth mindset are essential.

The role will lead a team of 6 people and report to the Head of Finance. We seek someone with excellent communication skills and a dynamic leadership style, capable of problem-solving autonomously and collaboratively.

Core responsibilities include day-to-day financial management and control, assessing the impact of commercial changes from an accounting perspective, and identifying opportunities for process automation. The candidate will be the primary finance contact for senior leadership, staying informed about changes in the e-commerce landscape and delivering excellent service.

Typical daily tasks may involve leading the month-end close, troubleshooting issues, working with data specialists to automate processes, and collaborating with the tax team on transfer pricing policies. The role offers continuous challenges and opportunities for skill development in a rapidly growing business.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, ideally starting in January.

Responsibilities

• Management development and mentoring of a team of 6, overseeing output and quality
• Ownership of the monthly accounting and reporting cycle, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Presenting key results to senior leadership, including the CFO and executives
• Business partnering with the executive team to support financial objectives
• Supporting the FP&A team and guiding the team through budgeting and reforecasting
• Supporting the Group Reporting team and liaising with auditors during annual and half-year accounts preparation
• Collaborating with other finance teams to understand developments impacting responsibilities
• Supporting finance transformation initiatives to improve processes
• Leading various ad hoc projects as they arise

Qualifications

• Qualified senior accountant with at least 4 years PQE
• Strong team management skills
• Experience in financial management, internal control, and management reporting
• Proven ability to develop operational processes and improve existing ones
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, multicurrency, multinational environment
