Job summary

Travelport seeks a seasoned Finance professional to act as a strategic FP&A partner for Central Functions, delivering robust forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis. You will collaborate with senior leadership to drive cost optimization and meaningful insights that shape strategic decisions.

The role involves leading month-end close activities, developing central reporting, and supporting cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (CIMA or ACCA) or equivalent with active studier status.

Responsibilities

• Act as finance partner to Central Functions leadership and VPs, providing strategic finance support.
• Lead forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting for Central Functions.
• Deliver timely month-end close analytics and variance analysis.
• Drive cost optimization and efficiency initiatives with cross-functional teams.

Job description

Serve as a strategic finance partner to Central Functions teams, driving financial planning, analysis, and aiding investment decisions. This role ensures alignment with business objectives through robust forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking. Strategic Finance Partnership:

• Function as Finance partner to Central Functions leadership and divisional VPs, responsible for providing strategic finance support, including detailed cost analysis and insight.
• Engagement with supporting functional business leads as appropriate.
• Responsible for managing the forecasting and budgeting processes for all Central Functions
• Responsible for providing financial insights to guide strategic decisions.
• Support planning and restructuring initiatives to optimize costs as required.
• Responsible for leading the design and development central functions performance reporting.
• Track and report savings KPIs.
• Support Strategic Projects on an ad hoc basis.
• Ad-Hoc FP&A support as needed.

Month-End Close

• Responsible for reviewing completion of month-end Central Functions close activities
• Delivery of accurate 5th-day estimates and variance analysis.
• Lead central functions close calls, engaging with supporting teams as appropriate.
• Responsible for added value variance analysis alongside the FP&A centre of excellence team, as part of the financial close process.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Annual budgets and long-term (5-year) financial plans covering Product development and engineering resourcing.
• Deliver rolling 30/60/90-day forecasts to maintain agility.
• Deliver Annual budgets, outlooks and forecasts in accordance with FP&A timetables.

Cross-Functional Alignment

• Partner with HR, SRM, and other functional teams to ensure financial integration and compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement in both processes and reporting including improving the development and monitoring of Financial KPIs, together with supporting transition to more automated reporting

Analytical with strong business acumen

• Proven track record in partnership support role.
• Self-starter with initiative and the ability to communicate ideas effectively
• Qualified Accountant (CIMA or ACCA), late-stage active studier, or equivalent.
• Practical and proven experiences in an accounting environment
• Good interpersonal skills, and an ability to tailor their approach to deal with different levels of management
• PC literacy requiring experience in PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI. Cognos & Oracle - beneficial
• The position requires a team player demonstrating maximum flexibility
• Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
• Must be consistent with a good standard of work, disciplined and deadline conscious
• Proven communication & relationship building skills
• Ability to work with all aspects of the finance team
• Knowledge of the Travel Industry a benefit but not a prerequisite.
