Senior Finance Manager

This fixed term contract role sits within the Building Operations & Experience ("BOE") segment of CBRE looking after the UK & Ireland ("UK&I") business, which has an annual turnover of circa $3bn.

This role is in the Financial Reporting sub-team in Controllership - a team responsible for many areas including balance sheet reconciliations, the balance sheet flux, SOX controls and payroll. Specifically, the day-to-day responsibilities of this position are focused on payroll.

This role is for maternity cover and is therefore a fixed-term contract.

What You'll Do

  1. Post payroll during month-end close by established deadlines for the 3x UK&I entities totalling 10,000+ employees
  2. Manage a team of 2x financial accountants
  3. Act as an effective business partner between Controllership and Business Finance to assist with payroll queries
  4. Prepare and/or review payroll balance sheet reconciliations in line with SOX requirements.
  5. Execute key payroll SOX controls ensuring that the control is completed by set deadlines and a high quality of documentation is produced
  6. Assist with any queries that are raised by Controllership leadership, the EMEA Reporting & Oversight team and the US Corporate team
  7. Create & maintain process notes on payroll controls and processes
  8. Continually seek to identify process efficiencies that could be implemented
  9. In conjunction with the other reporting team members, when necessary assist in delivery of Group and Statutory audits deliverables in line with internal & external/statutory deadlines

What You'll Need

  1. ACA or ACCA qualified accountant or equivalent
  2. Experience of working with UK (and potentially Ireland) payroll
  3. Strong communication & interpersonal skills with the ability to influence people in the wider business to deliver what's needed
  4. Experience of working to a strict close timetable in a large & complex business
  5. Big 4 audit experience preferred
