Hewett Recruitment supports a respected manufacturing business in Ledbury in recruiting a Senior Finance Manager. You will own the finance function, lead a small team and provide strategic financial leadership to support performance and governance.

You will drive monthly management accounts, budgeting, cash flow management and ERP optimisations, partnering with senior stakeholders to enable informed decisions.

Qualifications

  • Qualified through ACCA or CIMA.
  • 5+ years post-qualified experience in a finance role.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in corporate reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Capable of a four-day or shorter month-end close.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop the finance team.
  • Produce monthly management accounts with clear analysis.
  • Own performance metrics and close gaps identified.
  • Lead month-end close and group reporting to deadlines.
  • Manage cash flow, bank accounts and investments.
  • Oversee accounts payable/receivable and cash book.
  • Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and VAT/HMRC payments.
  • Lead annual audit and ensure IFRS/FRS 102 compliance.
  • Improve financial controls, KPIs and reporting processes.
  • Drive ERP usage and continuous improvement across sites.
  • Support finance activities across multi-site manufacturing.

Senior Finance Manager

Are you a qualified finance professional with strong manufacturing experience and a passion for leading and developing teams?

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Finance Manager to take ownership of its finance function, providing accurate reporting, commercial insight and financial control. Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead a small team and play an active role within the Senior Leadership Team.

This is a varied, hands-on opportunity where you'll combine strategic financial leadership with day-to-day operational involvement, helping the business improve performance, strengthen processes and make better-informed decisions.

The role

As Senior Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, motivating and developing the finance team
  • Producing monthly management accounts and providing clear financial analysis
  • Taking ownership of performance and identifying actions to address gaps
  • Leading the month-end close and completing group reporting within tight deadlines
  • Managing cash flow, bank accounts and investments
  • Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash book and transactional finance
  • Preparing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
  • Managing balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, VAT and HMRC payments
  • Leading the annual audit and ensuring compliance with IFRS and FRS 102
  • Improving financial controls, KPIs and reporting processes
  • Driving better use of the ERP system and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Supporting finance activities across a multi-site manufacturing operation
About you

To be successful in this role, you will be:

  • Full or part qualified through ACCA or CIMA
  • An experienced finance leader with at least five years' post-qualified experience
  • Experienced within a manufacturing environment
  • Confident managing, motivating and developing a finance team
  • Experienced in corporate reporting, budgeting and forecasting
  • Comfortable delivering a four-day or shorter month-end close
  • Commercially minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced in Excel, with ERP experience ideally including IFS
  • A proactive, hands-on leader who is happy to support with routine finance tasks when required
  • Able to communicate complex financial information clearly to senior stakeholders
