Job description

We are looking for a senior finance professional to join our central finance team based in Nottingham. We want an enthusiastic individual with a positive working attitude to join our team of 5,000 colleagues across the UK. The Senior Finance Business Partner will take responsibility for the finance function in a new joint venture, providing Soft FM Services at multiple sites across the county. This will involve full end-to-end month-end processes plus full budget and forecasting cycles. This will be a key role within the organisation, working closely with the business.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in managing and developing relationships with teams both internally and externally. They should have a broad financial understanding of how service organisations work, with the ability to challenge the status quo.

Your Accountabilities:
  1. Work at a senior level, supporting operational services and the wider finance team.
  2. Ensure information is available on a timely basis.
  3. Work flexibly to support delivery across the service.
  4. Create a positive and professional impression of the team.
  5. Deal with all contacts professionally and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Be an active part of the senior management team of the JV.
  2. Manage a finance team, including setting tasks, conducting 1:1s, and managing conflicts.
  3. Manage the yearly budget and forecasting cycles.
  4. Produce accurate monthly management accounts for the JV.
  5. Perform balance sheet reconciliations for the JV.
  6. Manage the month-end timetable and communications with relevant parties.
  7. Prepare finance board papers and present them to joint venture partners.
  8. Prepare variance analysis for operational services and support functions within the JV.
  9. Identify risks and support mitigation strategies.
  10. Provide commercial support, including bidding, pricing, dispute resolution, and investment appraisals.
  11. Support contract mobilisations/demobilisations financially.
  12. Develop and streamline existing processes.
  13. Develop Power BI reporting tools with in-house developers.
  14. Agree, calculate, and report KPIs for each service within the division.
  15. Manage relationships with internal and external auditors.
  16. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
Desired Skills:
  • ACCA/CIMA or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous management experience.
  • Commercially astute and business-focused.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills across all stakeholder levels.
  • Awareness of confidentiality and data protection requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
