Job summary

Kirklees Metropolitan Council is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead the newly established Family Help service in Kirklees. You will provide visible leadership to Team Managers, Social Workers and Practitioners, ensuring timely, proportionate and high-quality support for children and families.

Reporting to the Head of Service, the role focuses on embedding the Family Help offer, safeguarding, early intervention and effective multi-agency planning, while managing performance, budgets

Qualifications

Qualified and Social Work England registered social worker with substantial post-qualifying experience in children and families.
Demonstrated managerial experience leading teams of social workers and practitioners.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic and operational leadership across Family Help teams to deliver high-quality, family-centred practice.
Line manage Team Managers and support development of confident, resilient teams.
Embed the Family Help model within Families First reforms and promote early help and multi-agency planning.
Ensure safeguarding, risk analysis and timely decision making are robust.
Use performance and quality data to drive service improvement and learning.
Collaborate with education, health, police and other services to deliver joined-up support.
