Job summary

Children's Social Work Matters is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead and shape the newly established Family Help service in Kirklees. You will provide visible leadership to Team Managers, Practice Supervisors, Social Workers and Family Help Practitioners, ensuring timely, proportionate and high-quality support for children and families.

You will embed the Family Help offer, focusing on early intervention, whole-family approaches and robust risk management while aligning with Families

Qualifications

We are looking for a qualified and Social Work England registered social worker with significant post-qualifying experience in children and families work and substantial managerial experience.
Strong safeguarding, child protection, early help, assessment, planning and relevant legislation knowledge.
Ability to lead services in a complex and changing environment and to manage teams, budgets and HR matters.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic and operational leadership across Family Help teams.
Line manage Team Managers and support development of resilient, effective teams.
Embed the Family Help model within the Families First reforms.
Ensure safeguarding, risk analysis and decision making are robust and timely.
Use data, QA activity and feedback to drive service improvement.
Develop partnerships with education, health, police and council services.
Oversee budget, performance and strategic planning, delivering local and national priorities.
