South Gloucestershire Council's Children’s Social Care service is seeking an Advanced Social Worker - Family Help Lead Practitioner to build on a Good Ofsted rating. You will conduct skilled, relationship-based work across Child in Need, Child Protection and early Children in Care planning, manage complex cases and provide mentoring and supervision.

Qualifications

• Qualified social worker with current SW England registration.
• Ability to assess risk and plan interventions with children and families.
• Experience mentoring students or newly qualified social workers.
• Sound professional judgement and excellent record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex Family Help work across Child in Need, Child Protection and early Children in Care.
• Assess and balance risk, children's needs and family rights; take safeguarding action as needed.
• Facilitate family group decision-making and coordinate multi-agency plans.
• Provide mentoring and practice support to colleagues and students.
• Maintain high-quality records and contribute to team learning and service development.
