Job summary

Fusion People Ltd. in Newton Abbot seeks an experienced Facilities Manager to lead a council's FM service, ensuring safe, compliant, efficient and sustainable estate operations.

The role is temporary until 31 December, based Mon-Fri, 09:00–17:00, paying £22.91/h PAYE. You will oversee a team, manage budgets and external contracts, and drive health, safety and sustainability initiatives while delivering an FM strategy aligned with organisational objectives and reporting on space and running

Qualifications

• Significant proven experience in facilities management.
• Experience of managing staff, budgets and financial planning.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and building services.
• Understanding of sustainability and carbon reduction.
• Level 4 FM qualification (IWFM or equivalent) and a management qualification such as ILM Level 4, or willingness to work towards them.
• Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
• Driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of facilities staff
• Develop and deliver an FM strategy aligned with organisational objectives
• Manage delegated budgets and external contracts, ensuring value for money
• Oversee hard FM (plumbing, electrical, mechanical, heat pumps, EV charging, fire safety, lifts, solar, CCTV) and soft FM (cleaning, grounds, reception, security, porters)
• Manage risk, health and safety, and sustainability initiatives
• Use data to report on space efficiency, compliance and running costs
