Job summary

Bowdon Associates Ltd is seeking a Senior Designer - Facades to join their team, focusing on curtain walling, cladding and façade systems. The Senior Design Technician will work with the Design Manager to produce accurate drawings in line with client specifications, bringing proven AutoCAD experience.

You will lead on projects, collaborate with internal and external teams, and ensure timely delivery, QA, and compliance with fire safety and design briefs.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role with curtain walling, cladding and facades is essential.
• Extensive experience and ability with AutoCAD.
• Experience with MS Office applications (Word, Excel & Outlook).
• Experience with Revit/SketchUp/Rhino is desirable.
• Experience in planning and delivering design programs.
• Experience in producing fabrication/detailed drawings.
• Ability to interpret structural and architectural drawings and information.
• Ability to work with 2D & 3D drawings.

Responsibilities

• Aid in design and assist the Design Manager in project management, establish client briefs, technical requirements, scope of works and deliverables.
• Lead on some allocated projects.
• Carry out engineering concept design to detailed design from tender through on-site supervision to completion.
• Ensure all drawings and specifications meet regulatory requirements including fire safety.
• Using AutoCAD and other systems to provide timely drawings per client brief.
• Ensure projects meet design briefs and deadlines set by Line Manager.
• Collaborate with internal & external design teams to produce coordinated, compliant designs.
• Provide input to design/project meetings and maintain in-house reviews and checks.
• Assist implementing and managing QA systems on projects.
• Effective management of own time and timesheets, with proper recording.
• Submit timesheets in accordance with reporting formats and deadlines.
