Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Principal / Senior Associate Façade Engineer to join our London team and lead a diverse range of façade projects from surveys to large-scale new builds.

You will coordinate design activities, resolve technical challenges, and deliver practical engineering solutions while mentoring staff and developing client relationships. The role offers hybrid working and opportunities to grow within a supportive building engineering business.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer with Civil/Structural degree or significant façade sector experience
• Strong façade design experience with emphasis on structural, durability and weathertightness
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management, including report writing and client liaison
• Commercially aware with the ability to lead façade projects across all phases
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic and team-focused in a multi-discipline environment

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver façade projects in a technically competent and timely manner
• Provide technical façade engineering advice to stakeholders
• Develop façade documentation and specifications to a high level of quality
• Review specialist contractor submissions
• Assist in growth of the façade business, contribute to bid writing and winning work
• Foster and maintain strong client relationships with new and existing clients
• Supervision and mentoring of other design staff, checking and approving documentation for issue
