Job summary

Mott MacDonald seeks a Principal / Senior Associate Façade Engineer to join our London team and lead a range of façade projects, from surveys to large-scale developments. The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with excellent client communication, manage design teams, coordinate multi-disciplinary inputs, and contribute to the growth of our façade business.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Engineer with Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering or significant experience from within the façade industry.
  • Significant experience within façade design with emphasis on structural aspects, durability, material selection, and design for weathertightness.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including report preparation.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to lead façade projects through all phases whilst managing and developing strong client relationships.
  • Be a self‑motivated, enthusiastic and team focused individual able to collaborate in multi‑discipline environment to successfully deliver façade projects.

The Buildings Unit (BLD) has a major presence in Mott MacDonald's regional offices throughout the UK and mainland Europe, providing a wide range of diverse and transferable cross‑sector skills across five key Sectors; Advisory, Built Environment, Energy, Transportation and Water. Overview Of The Role

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Principal / Senior Associate Façade Engineer to join a growing London team and help deliver a wide variety of façade projects. The role offers exposure to everything from investigative surveys and defect assessments to large‑scale new‑build developments.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and project teams. You will be involved in coordinating design activities, resolving technical challenges and delivering practical engineering solutions. Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Lead and deliver façade projects in a technically competent and timely manner

Candidate specification

Essential:

  • Chartered Engineer with Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering or significant experience from within the façade industry
