Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Façade Engineer to join our London team and deliver a wide range of façade projects. You will work from investigative surveys to large-scale developments, applying strong technical knowledge and clear communication with clients and project teams.

You'll review design concepts, develop façade documentation, and support through technical challenges. This role offers a collaborative, supportive environment within our Buildings unit and opportunities for career growth in

• Essential: degree in civil/structural engineering or equivalent Façade industry experience.
• Strong experience in façade design with understanding of structure, weather-tightness, fire protection, thermal performance, durability.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including report preparation.
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player able to collaborate across disciplines.

The Buildings Unit (BLD) has a major presence in Mott MacDonald's regional offices throughout the UK and mainland Europe, providing a wide range of diverse and transferable cross-sector skills across five key Sectors; Advisory, Built Environment, Energy, Transportation and Water. We also provide local services to customers and technical leadership to the rest of the Group in these sectors.

Overview Of The Role

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Façade Engineer to join a growing London team and help deliver a wide variety of façade projects. The role offers exposure to everything from investigative surveys and defect assessments to large-scale new-build developments. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and project teams. You will be involved in resolving technical challenges and delivering practical engineering solutions. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive and dynamic team and to contribute to the ongoing growth of a broader building engineering business.

Candidate specification

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering or significant experience from within the façade industry
• Strong experience in façade design with detailed understanding of structure, weathertightness, fire protection, thermal performance, durability etc
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including report preparation
• Be a self-motivated, enthusiastic and team focused individual able to collaborate in multi-discipline environment to successfully deliver Mott MacDonald façade projects
