Job description

We are recruiting for a Senior Export Contract Manager to work for a leading Defence organisation on a contract basis. The role offers a hybrid working model with 3 days on-site in Stevenage or Bristol and 2 days remote.

Key Requirements:
  • Keen for a defence background, preferred but not vital
  • Senior line manager experience
  • Experience in Commercial contracts delivery
Job Details:
  • Title: Senior Export Contract Manager
  • Working arrangement: Dynamic (hybrid): 2-3 days on-site per week
  • Security Clearance: British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship
The Opportunity:

Join the Programmes Export Operations Directorate as an experienced Export Contract Manager. You will report to the Export Contract Management UK Executive and demonstrate strong commercial, financial, and project management skills to lead complex export contracts.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Leading the commercial interface with international government and military customers for contract delivery
  2. Managing multiple cross-domain and geographically diverse contracts
  3. Ensuring contract schedules are met to maintain customer satisfaction and build long-term relationships
  4. Proactively managing risks and opportunities to resolve delivery issues
  5. Leading customer acceptance events and managing contractual payments
  6. Communicating effectively with customers, government and industrial partners, and internal teams
  7. Negotiating contract amendments and supporting sales and business development
  8. Collaborating with international partners to deliver export contracts
Candidate Profile:
  • Strong leadership and relationship management skills
  • Ability to operate in complex political environments
  • Experience managing contract delivery in international settings
  • Self-motivated, independent, and team-oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Leadership experience and stakeholder management skills
  • Willingness to travel internationally
  • Experience in bid submissions and business bid authority
  • Background in large, complex, multi-national organizations across various functions
