Job summary

Somerset House Trust is seeking an Exhibitions Manager to lead the development and delivery of exhibitions, commissions and installations within our diverse Exhibitions programme. You will ensure high standards of content, interpretation and design aligned with our mission and audiences.

The role requires significant project management experience in loan and touring exhibitions and complex installations, with a flexible approach to working and strong relationship management across curators,

Qualifications

• Significant experience of managing and leading exhibition projects, tours and related programming.
• Excellent project management and organisational skills with attention to deadlines.
• Experience negotiating agreements and drafting contracts with lenders, artists and designers.
• Experience coordinating shipping, insurance, and logistics for exhibitions and loans.
• Ability to manage budgets for multiple exhibition projects.
• Line management experience and ability to lead teams.
• Experience working with 2D/3D designers and suppliers on exhibitions.

Responsibilities

• Project manage exhibitions, commissions and projects from conception to delivery and strike.
• Lead on loan agreements and transport/insurance discussions with lenders and artists.
• Oversee design/layout with 2D/3D designers in collaboration with curators and technical teams.
• Coordinate national and international shipping and risk management for items.
• Manage budgets for multiple exhibition projects and report on variances.
• Draft contracts for external contractors, designers and lenders in consultation with senior staff.
• Lead project meetings and develop overall project schedules.
• Ensure rights and reproduction requirements are managed for projects.
