Job description

Are you an experienced events pro looking to progress their career? Our clients expect the best when visiting The Ned, and our Events Executives are the people showcasing our facilities to prospective clients, encouraging them to book one of our fabulous spaces for their next event.

Do you want to join one of the best places to work in hospitality?

What’s the role?

Senior Events Executive

About The Ned:

The Ned and Ned’s Club are a global collection of hotels, clubs, spas, and restaurants for like-minded individuals to meet, work and have a good time.

The Ned launched in 2017 in the heart of the City, in the former Midland Bank headquarters. The Ned City of London houses Ned’s Club - a private members’ space, gym and rooftop - alongside a public spa, a whole floor of event spaces, ten restaurants and bars and 250 hotel bedrooms.

As a Senior Executive you will:

  • Plan and look after medium size events and groups: building relationships to understand their needs and tastes, then booking rooms, food and drinks, and anything else needed to make the event perfect
  • Make recommendations to improve the event for the clients and maximise revenue for The Ned
  • Provide regular hospitality and support to clients including site inspections, pre-conference briefings and being a welcoming face on any ad hoc visits
  • Compile weekly function sheets and group resumes ensuring all Ned stakeholders have all the information they need to provide a seamless experience for every group and event
  • Collect deposits, send final invoices, and collect payments
  • Ideally this role will be a step on the path to management for an ambitious sales and events rising star, so you’ll be a pro-active learner who takes stretch or growth opportunities when they present themselves

What The Ned can give you:

  • Yearly pay of up to £35,000
  • Complimentary meals in our friendly team restaurant, Neddy’s including monthly payday breakfast
  • Exclusive rates at The Ned for staying and eating for you, your family and friends
  • Wellbeing and health benefits, including Reward Gateway and Wagestream, with access to gym, shopping and cinema discounts
  • Your birthday off, after a year of service and more holiday after five years of service
  • Paid volunteer day
  • Refer a friend scheme
  • Regular social events, including an annual pool party
  • Employee assistance program – 24/7 advice and support
  • Reward and recognition initiatives

What you can bring to the role:

  • Rapport building skills are essential for working in our sales teams; every guest is a loyal client or potential new client, so every interaction is crucial
  • Events guests at The Ned expect their visits to go off without a hitch, so you’ll be an organised and meticulous planner
  • You’ll have a commercial mindset that you use to balance planning the guest’s perfect event with generating revenue for the business
  • As this is a perfect role for an aspiring manager, a hunger to learn and desire to progress are both strongly encouraged

At The Ned, we don't just celebrate our diversity, we challenge ourselves to do even better. The Ned is committed to being the best place to work, and ensuring that we have a leading diversity, equity and inclusion programme is central to making that vision a reality.
