Job summary

McLaren Automotive Ltd seeks a Power Electronics Engineer to design, develop and deliver high-voltage power electronics components for our electric drive technology. You will own the technical content, manage supplier activity, and ensure on-time delivery within budget across vehicle projects.

Responsibilities include defining requirements, coordinating validations, and maintaining BOMs. A strong background in DC/DC converters, on-board chargers and HV safety is essential for successful

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience delivering automotive power electronics components from concept to production.
• Strong understanding of safety requirements for high-voltage systems and HV layouts.

Responsibilities

• Define component, system and functional requirements aligned with vehicle programme objectives.
• Own the technical content of the component and supervise design, development and integration.
• Lead supplier activities to meet timing, quality and cost targets.
• Manage engineering releases and change-control activities.
• Ensure design solutions meet NVH, thermal performance and durability targets.
• Plan and deliver validation including simulations where required.
• Assist production readiness and build allocation for prototypes to production.
• Maintain BOM and ensure integration across vehicle projects.
