Job description

Our client, a commodity trading firm, is looking for an ETD Operations Analyst to join their team in Birmingham.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation of exchange-traded derivatives, resolving any discrepancies in accordance with established procedures.
2. Monitoring open exceptions across systems and clearing them efficiently within the defined timelines.
3. Maintaining and validating standing data for all derivative products and confirming accurate application of clearing and execution fees.
4. Generating regular management reports and operational statistics to support internal performance tracking.
5. Identifying opportunities for process improvement, recommending, and supporting enhancements to workflows, controls, and contingency plans.

You will need to have the following experience:

1. Minimum of 5 years' experience in an operations, trade support, or reconciliation role.
2. Experience dealing with a range of ETD products such as futures, options, swaps, and CFDs.
3. Understanding of clearing, settlement, and margin processes.
4. Proven background interacting with Exchanges, Clearing Houses, and Clearing/Execution Brokers.
5. Experience in a trading environment, ideally within the energy or broader commodities sector, with direct exposure to traders and commercial teams.
