Senior Estimator – Social Housing Projects

Job summary

United Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in Social Housing to join our expanding Social Infrastructure team in the UK. You will be responsible for producing accurate cost estimates and competitive tender submissions, supporting the growth of the business from pre-construction through to handover on refurbishment and new build projects.

You will perform quantity take-offs, prepare Bills of Quantities, obtain subcontractor quotations, and present tender

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience within the construction industry.
• Social Housing experience essential.
• Experience with Bills of Quantities and quantity take-offs.
• Knowledge of JCT and ACA contracts.
• Proficient in Excel and estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates from drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Produce commercially viable and competitive tender submissions.
• Undertake quantity take-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities.
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Work closely with commercial, operational, and bid teams.
• Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
• Present tender cost build-ups and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Support project handovers to operational delivery teams.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market rates, materials, and labour costs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Ensure all tender submissions are completed within agreed deadlines.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes.
