Job summary

Keyman Personnel is seeking an Estimator to join a specialist re-cladding contractor focusing on social housing refurbishment and façade projects in the UK. The role involves pricing residential refurbishment works and managing tender processes from documents to submissions.

The ideal candidate will interpret drawings and specifications, balance labour and material costs, and collaborate with commercial and design teams to deliver robust estimates and competitive bids.

Qualifications

• Previous estimating experience within social housing, refurbishment, planned maintenance or façades.
• Experience pricing residential refurbishment or external works packages.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and tender information.
• Good understanding of subcontractor and supplier procurement.
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
• Commercially aware with excellent attention to detail.
• Able to manage multiple tenders and work to strict deadlines.
• Façade or re-cladding experience would be advantageous but is not essential where transferable social-housing experience is demonstrated.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for façade remediation and re-cladding projects.
• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
• Produce accurate take-offs and bills of quantities.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors, suppliers and manufacturers.
• Assess labour, material, access and preliminary costs.
• Identify commercial risks, exclusions, qualifications and opportunities.
• Prepare tender submissions and supporting commercial information.
• Work closely with the commercial, design and operational teams.
• Attend tender meetings, site visits and pre-contract discussions.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and pricing information.
• Support handovers to the delivery and commercial teams following successful tenders.
• Assist with value engineering and alternative façade solutions.
