Job summary

M Group Rail and Aviation is seeking an experienced civil engineer with strong estimating skills for our Rail & Aviation bid team. You will review client specifications, build cost estimates, and manage the bid process across both private and public sector projects.

Responsibilities include leading on bid pricing, using Causeway and Excel for take-offs, and visiting sites as required to support tender preparation. A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of civil engineering experience, preferably in Rail & Aviation.
• Demonstrated estimating experience and take-off/BOQ production experience.
• Good understanding of NEC contracts.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, identify inconsistencies and clarify requirements with the client.
• Build up formal cost estimates using first principles: people, equipment, materials and subcontract costs.
• Lead bid estimates and manage pricing submissions for private and public sector.
• Perform cost comparisons and risk assessments to optimise bids.
• Attend site visits as required for tender preparation.
