Senior Estimator — Lead Tendering for Civil Works

Job summary

Energy Jobline ATTB is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead the tendering process for civil engineering, groundworks and infrastructure projects in the South of England, with Winchester, Hampshire as a base.

You will own tenders from review through submission, producing accurate estimates, cost plans and tender returns while negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers to secure value for money. Occasional travel to sites is possible.

Qualifications

• Essential: proven estimator experience in civil engineering.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Experience pricing subcontractor, plant, labour and material costs.
• Confident communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the estimating process from tender review to submission.
• Prepare accurate estimates, cost plans and tender returns.
• Review drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
• Obtain, assess and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering options.
• Work closely with pre-construction, commercial and operational teams.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
