The role blends autonomous bid work with direct client engagement, offering remote-friendly arrangements (office 1–2 days weekly in Manchester) and a salary of £70,000–£80,000 plus bonus. Applicants should have 5+ years in IT infrastructure, structured cabling, and low-voltage systems, with wireless exposure a bonus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in estimating within technology, infrastructure or engineering.
• Experience leading estimating, design and bid development.
• Ability to influence design and bid strategy and engage clients at bid stage.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost planning, estimating, and tender submissions for technically complex projects.
• Shape scope, exclusions, and commercial risk to support bid strategy and margin control.
• Develop high-quality technical and commercial proposals, including pricing models.
• Lead or validate technical designs and surveys with internal engineers and external partners.
• Engage directly with clients at bid stage as a trusted technical partner.
• Monitor tender portals and frameworks; plan for public-sector renewals.
• Support continuous improvement of estimating standards, tools and governance.
