Job summary

Talk Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an Assistant Estimator, Estimator, or Senior Estimator for a hybrid role in the UK construction sector. You will work within a major contractor’s preconstruction team, handling cost plans, tender submissions, and collaboration with design and procurement.

The role requires experience across building sectors and strong communication to influence affordability and cost-saving opportunities. A main contractor background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in building sector projects and main contractor environments.
• Proven track record as an estimator at various levels.
• Strong communication skills with clients and teams.
• Experience across sectors (commercial, leisure, residential, healthcare, education) and tendering.

Responsibilities

• Ensure cost plans align with project scope, customer requirements, and legislation.
• Collaborate with preconstruction to secure tender projects.
• Create robust cost plans through design gateways to target price.
• Guide design teams on affordability and value opportunities.
• Identify risks and propose value-added solutions in costs and design.
• Lead procurement planning and manage supply chain relationships.
