Job summary

Leading Regional Contractor in Coventry is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its team on a senior level. The role focuses on pre-construction and tendering, preparing accurate cost estimates and working with internal teams.

The position offers hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 from home), a salary of £75,000 - £85,000 plus car or allowance, pension, healthcare, and a supportive environment with strong staff retention.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an Estimating role within the construction industry.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Experience of preparing and managing competitive tenders.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
• Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
• Obtaining, analysing and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Identifying commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering options.
• Working collaboratively with the wider pre-construction, commercial and operational teams.
• Supporting the preparation and submission of competitive tenders.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Ensuring estimates are commercially sound and delivered within agreed timescales.
