Job summary

Nicholas Associates is seeking an experienced Estimator or Senior Estimator for a reputable groundworks contractor in the UK. You will lead pricing and tendering for groundworks packages from 5m to 20m+ and collaborate with clients, engineers and project managers to deliver competitive bids.

The role focuses on pre-construction pricing, risk assessment, and working with cross-functional teams to win flagship UK projects.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator in commercial groundworks, civil engineering or infrastructure.
Strong technical understanding of groundworks, drainage, foundations, roads and external works.
Excellent numeracy, attention to detail and commercial awareness.
Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
Confident communicator capable of leading tender presentations and negotiations.

Responsibilities

Prepare and lead detailed cost estimates for groundworks and civil engineering projects.
Analyze drawings, specifications and other documentation to prepare tenders.
Collaborate with commercial, technical and operational teams.
Attend pre- and post-tender meetings with clients and stakeholders.
Identify risk and opportunity in tender submissions.
