Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Senior Estimator in Glasgow to assess tender opportunities and prepare detailed cost estimates for civil engineering projects. The role involves evaluating drawings, defining scope, and coordinating with multiple teams to ensure accurate budgets and timely submissions.

The successful candidate will conduct site visits, engage with subcontractors, and manage the tender process from launch to handover, building strong client and supply chain relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil engineering structure repair and tender cost estimation.
• Solid grasp of commercial issues, cost estimation, risk and works programming.
• Familiarity with structural surveys, bridge bearing assessments, expansion joints, concrete repairs and post-tensioning systems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate tender opportunities and review drawings/specifications.
• Define scope of work and prepare conceptual, budgetary and firm price estimates.
• Conduct site visits to assess constraints and risks.
• Collaborate with Operations and HSE to define subcontract packages.
• Engage with subcontractors and evaluate their proposals.
• Coordinate with internal departments for technical input and design requirements.
• Manage the tender process including launch meetings, mid-bid reviews and settlements.
• Ensure bid governance and submission documents.
• Support contract negotiations and handovers to delivery teams.
• Build and maintain client and supply chain relationships.
