Solum Assets Ltd. is seeking a Senior Estimator – Earthworks to lead first principles estimating for earthworks projects across diverse UK civil schemes. The role offers hybrid working with a mix of home and office days and the chance to head a tenders team as the business grows.

The ideal candidate will have solid earthworks experience, expert first principles estimating skills, and strong communication with clients and internal stakeholders. Salary reflects experience and includes a package.

Qualifications

• Solid experience within the EARTHWORKS sector.
• First Principles Estimating experience essential.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to oversee tenders and manage a team in time.

Responsibilities

• Perform First Principles pricing for earthworks projects.
• Carry out take-offs, measurements and rates build‑up.
• Apply value engineering to tenders where appropriate.
• Plan sequencing and programming of earthworks packages.
• Identify and communicate risk and reward opportunities.
• Attend tender adjudication meetings with Directors/Clients.
• Build and maintain client relationships to support winning work.
• Oversee tenders and bids workload through a team.
• Price tenders typically valued from £500k to £8m.
• Report to shareholders and coordinate with established client base.

Senior Estimator – EARTHWORKS (First Principles)

HYBRID WORKING – up to 3 Days WORK FROM HOME + 2 DAYS OFFICE

Salary anywhere from £80,000 - £130,000 + package (depending on experience and ability) or LTD Company status

Midlands £40+m business

Typical Duties:

• EARTHWORK ESTIMATING First principles pricing of projects
• Take offs, measurement and rates build up
• Value engineering throughout tenders at times
• Sequencing and / or programming
• Spotting risk and reward opportunities
• Attending tender adjudication meetings with Directors and Clients
• Client communication and relationship building

Hybrid role – office and home working

• Overseeing and managing tenders and bids workload through a team
• Pricing earthworks tenders valued between £500k and £8m typically
• Dealing with a very established Blue Chip client base
• Reporting to the business shareholders
• Working for a very well-established business, well known contracting business

Company Profile:

• A very well-respected Civil Engineering business that operates on projects ranging from £3m - £25m in value across the UK.

Covering civil engineering including but not limited to:

• Major Commercial & Industrial civil engineering infrastructure
