Job summary

Constructive Moves are seeking a Senior Estimator to join our Hertfordshire office, delivering accurate costings for residential, education, health, and commercial sectors. You will lead tender preparations and advise on commercial strategy with a focus on value engineering.

Hybrid working arrangements are available, and you will collaborate closely with project teams to ensure robust pricing, risk assessment, and smooth handover to delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction estimating and tender preparation.
• Ability to measure drawings and prepare bills of quantities.
• Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
• Proficient in Excel for cost comparison.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate estimates and commercial submissions for allocated tenders.
• Review drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Prepare measured quantities and bills of quantities to support tender pricing.
• Obtain and evaluate competitive quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Identify tender risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
• Assist on post-tender commercial negotiations and handover to delivery teams.

Constructive Moves are looking to secure a Senior Estimator for a specialist contractor based in Hertfordshire. This opportunity will offer the chance to work on innovative project solutions across multiple sectors including residential, education, health, and commercial in the South East of England.

As Senior Estimator you will need to have current knowledge of new-build development and contracting projects with familiarity of the UK construction regulations such as, JCT and NEC contracts.

You will be expected to have experience in construction estimating and tender preparation, the ability to measure drawings and preparing bills of quantities using software like Bluebeam and Estimate as well as knowledge in Excel to manage cost comparison spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate estimates and commercial submissions for allocated tenders.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Preparing measured quantities and bills of quantities to support tender pricing.
• Obtain and evaluate competitive quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Identify and assess tender risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
• Assist on post-tender commercial negotiations and supporting handover to project delivery teams.
