Job summary

Kingsclere, United Kingdom—Cotech Building Careers is recruiting a Senior Estimator to join and lead the Southern preconstruction team, with a focus on London projects. You will produce estimates from BQs, drawings and specs, for traditional and design & build contracts, reporting to the Head of Preconstruction.

Successful candidates will drive tendering activities, build strong client relationships and mentor junior estimators within a growing new workstream, empowering the team to deliver

Qualifications

• Appraisal and evaluation of client tender requirements and specifications in typically 2-stage bid preparation.
• Abstract and report on contractual tender stage information.
• Manage tender information efficiently.
• Undertaking tender site visits.
• Take off and produce tender stage bills of quantities.
• Pricing of tender labour, plant and material rates build ups.
• Analysing supply chain enquiries for tender.
• Reporting for tender adjudication.
• Communication and handover of estimates.
• Early engagement with client teams to provide cost advice.
• Providing early-stage project cost plans.
• Managing and reporting tender stage cost controls.

Responsibilities

• Produce estimates from BQ’s and Drawings & Specifications, under traditional and design & build contracts.
• Lead the tender team for the Southern region with a focus on London projects.
• Develop cost plans and provide cost advice during preconstruction.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to support tender submissions and acquisitions.
• Support junior estimators and report upstream to the Head of Preconstruction.

The company are recruiting for a Senior Estimator to join/lead the Southern team, particularly focusedin London and reporting to the Head of Preconstruction / Snr Preconstruction Manager. With a diverse portfolioof projects shortly coming online, we are looking for an individual who has passion for estimating & preconstructionactivities whilst also being able to work as part of a close-knit team. As Snr. Estimator, you’ll be responsible forproducing estimates from BQ’s and Drawings & Specifications, under both traditional and design & build contracts.

Working for a diverse client base and frameworks you will be involved in contract values ranging from £1m – £20mwithin a mixture of both construction & refurbishment schemes. Building strong relationships and working clientfacing within collaborative public framework environments in which we operate is essential. • Providing support to the estimating and preconstruction team, assisting junior estimator(s), reportingupstream, including for all line management as required.
