Job summary

AVK|SEG (UK) Ltd seeks a Senior Estimator to join our Estimating team. This role influences cost advice across complex, high-value projects and ensures commercial integrity in the pre-construction phase.

You will own estimating deliverables, lead tender processes, and mentor junior staff while working in a flexible, hybrid setup. A strong track record in high-stakes pricing and risk management is essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in estimating across sectors and project types.
• Strong commercial and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 software and associated tools.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Proven track record of delivering multiple high-quality estimates under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Own all estimating documentation and ensure quality control.
• Lead tender meetings and sign-off processes.
• Deliver accurate cost estimates and competitive tender submissions.
• Develop pricing strategies and oversee bid preparation.
• Review project documents to ensure compliance and identify risks.
• Maintain reliable cashflow forecasts.
• Coordinate inputs from supply chain and internal teams.
• Advise clients on procurement, risk, and estimating strategy.
• Act as a client-facing lead throughout the estimating process.
• Drive improvements in estimating tools and processes.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Ensure outputs meet client expectations and deadlines.
• Champion use of cost databases and benchmarking.
• Build supply chain relationships and gather market intelligence.

We're looking for a new Senior Estimator to join our Estimating team here at AVK. The role will play a key role in the estimating function across complex and high-value projects. It provides strategic cost advice, manages estimating deliverables, and ensures commercial integrity throughout the pre-construction phase.
