Job summary

Global Professional Consultants is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our civil/construction team. You will oversee all project costs, prepare estimates and bills of quantities, and manage NEC contracts across a diverse portfolio including residential, commercial and leisure projects based in Newry or Belfast.

You will analyze variations, manage claims per NEC, and drive cost control and procurement efficiency. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Relevant bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying/ estimation.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in quantity surveying within Civil Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control and procurement.
• Proven experience with NEC contracts is essential.
• Proficient in COINS, Primavera P6, MS Project and MS Office.

Responsibilities

Due to continued growth, new contracts and an extensive pipeline of work, Ireland’s Main Contractors have an exciting opportunity for aSenior Estimatorto join their team working on a wide variety of projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with NEC contracts and a strong background in civil engineering/construction projects. You will be working on a wide range of projects from residential, commercial, leisure etc. This role will be based in the Newry or Belfastoffice with flexibility to travel to sites as required.

Role:

• Oversee and manage all project costs to ensure that projects are completed within budget.
• Prepare and evaluate cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for our projects.
• Manage NEC contracts, including interpreting contract clauses, managing early warnings, and assessing compensation events.
• Analyse and assess variations, manage claims in compliance with NEC guidelines, and ensure timely resolution of any contract issues.
• Conduct cost analysis and risk management for ongoing projects.
• Oversee procurement processes, negotiate with subcontractors, and manage subcontractor performance.
• Prepare and present detailed reports on project financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Assist in the preparation of contract documents and manage contract variations.

Requirements:

Salary:

• £75K – £85K neg DOE
