Job summary

Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking a self-motivated senior maintenance assistant to join the Estates team at Singleton Hospital in Swansea. The role covers routine maintenance and repair of building services, plant and equipment, with on-call out-of-hours cover on the main site and other health board premises.

Ideal candidates will have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, and Literacy/Numeracy L1. A full driving licence is required; prior NHS maintenance experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a building subject or engineering.
• Literacy and Numeracy L1 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist other Estate's craft staff with building services maintenance as required.
• Organise daily routine to incorporate regular tasks and schedule work efficiently.
• Understand and manage drainage systems on Singleton Estates premises; able to unblock drainage problems.
• The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh or English speakers are welcome.
