Job summary

Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) seeks an experienced information management lead to deliver a modern, data-driven estate through BIM, GIS, and digital twins. You will act as the technical authority for electronic estates standards and lifecycle management, driving integration across CAFM/CMMS and automation platforms.

The role requires strong governance skills, experience with BIM (ISO 19650), and the ability to coordinate across DDaT, sustainability, and facilities teams.

Qualifications

• Experience of estate information management including electronic platforms.
• Experience of embedding consistent standards across sites for estate information management.
• Experience of strengthening estate compliance through clearer oversight and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the estates information asset strategy.
• Define and embed estate information policy, standards, processes and governance frameworks, including BIM (ISO 19650).
• Oversee integration of BIM, GIS, digital twins, CAFM/CMMS and smart building tech for consistent estate information.
• Provide governance of AutoCAD drawings and set procedures for consistent records.
• Lead collaboration with DDaT, sustainability, FM, capital projects, and external specialists.
• Provide oversight for Condition Surveys data platforms and asset data management.
• Provide (with training) technical architecture for Smartsheet/BI management platforms.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and technology partners with reporting on progress and risks.
• Act as principal SME for estate information management across projects and transformation initiatives.
• Support financial planning and monitoring for estate information activities and cost controls.
• Prepare briefing materials and technical summaries for senior colleagues and stakeholders.
• Deputise for the Head of Estate on information management matters and represent the organisation.
• Ensure data/document storage systems are effective and efficient with the real estate team.
• Enable regular reporting through digital platforms and data verification.
