Job summary

The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) seeks an experienced Higher Scientist to drive EQC for Copernicus datasets. You will lead production, quality assessments and user-facing statements, coordinating with ECMWF and CDS teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Physics, Maths, Data Science or Earth Science (PhD preferred).
• Strong numeric and analytical skills for climate data.
• Experience with remote sensing data and Earth system datasets.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operational delivery of EQC for Copernicus Climate Change Service datasets.
• Develop QA/QC quality assessments, notebooks and tutorials for user communities.
• Collaborate with ECMWF and CDS teams to ensure timely EQC content integration.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to technical documentation and publications.
