Job summary

National Physical Laboratory seeks an experienced Higher Scientist to drive the operational delivery of the Evaluation and Quality Control (EQC) function for climate datasets via the Copernicus Climate Change Service. You will collaborate with ECMWF and the CDS to ensure data quality across land, ocean and atmosphere domains.

You will develop QAs and Jupyter notebooks, mentor junior staff, and liaise with customers to align EQC outputs with user requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering EQC for climate datasets.
• Ability to develop user-relevant quality assessments and tools.
• Ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Focus on operational production and delivery of EQC for climate observations.
• Develop user relevant Quality Assessment notebooks and tutorials.
• Collaborate with CEO group, Energy & Environment, and contract consortium on quality assessments.
