Job summary

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced leader for a fixed-term maternity cover as Head of Emergency Preparedness, Resilience & Response (EPRR) and Prevent Lead. You will ensure compliance with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and NHS EPRR standards, directing preparedness, resilience, training and assurance across the Trust.

You will drive the EPRR portfolio, work with safeguarding and external partners, and advise senior leaders during major incidents while promoting patient

Qualifications

• Highly developed knowledge of emergency preparedness, resilience, response, civil contingencies and business continuity legislation, standards and guidance.
• Demonstrable experience developing and maintaining emergency preparedness and business continuity programmes, plans and arrangements.
• Experience planning, delivering and evaluating EPRR training and exercises.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders and multi‑agency partners on complex resilience matters.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to produce sensitive reports and Board papers.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing demands and deadlines.
• Experience providing leadership to multidisciplinary teams and senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Trust's EPRR programme to ensure compliance with statutory duties as a Category 1 Responder and NHS England EPRR Core Standards.
• Develop and assure Trust-wide emergency plans, policies and procedures.
• Manage the Business Continuity Management programme and strengthen resilience.
• Design and deliver EPRR training, exercises and assurance programmes.
• Maintain incident response readiness and on-call arrangements.
• Provide specialist advice to senior leaders during major incidents and work with external partners.
• Act as Trust Prevent Lead, supporting safeguarding colleagues and partners to meet Prevent requirements.
