Job summary

Beautiful Recruitment is seeking a Senior Epitaxy Equipment Engineer for our client at a UK site in Northamptonshire. The role focuses on maintaining and optimising MOVPE/MOCVD production equipment, with responsibilities spanning daily maintenance, upgrades, and safety-critical operations in a high-tech manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in semiconductor epitaxy or wafer fabrication, with strong electrical, vacuum and control-system knowledge.

Qualifications

• Requires HNC/degree or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or time-served apprenticeship.
• 5+ years in semiconductor wafer fabrication or epitaxy engineering.
• Experience with MOVPE and/or MOCVD equipment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of vacuum systems and high/low voltage safety.
• Able to interpret wiring diagrams and schematics; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily maintenance with Manufacturing and Process Engineering teams.
• Lead equipment improvements, upgrades and installations.
• Provide input into new equipment procurement, commissioning and release to production.
• Maintain and troubleshoot MOVPE/MOCVD equipment to minimise downtime.
• Carry out safety procedures when handling hazardous gases; SCBA training.
• Oversee chemicals, process gases, spare parts, chemical fills and waste disposal.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance strategies; improve uptime.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Support shutdowns and occasional weekend overtime.
