Job summary

Beautiful Recruitment's client in Northamptonshire seeks a Senior Epitaxy Equipment Engineer to provide technical support for Epitaxy Shift Equipment Engineers and Technicians, ensuring the reliability and availability of MOVPE and MOCVD production equipment.

You will coordinate daily maintenance with Manufacturing and Process Engineering, lead equipment improvements, and support procurement, commissioning and release to production. Training includes SCBA and hazardous materials handling.

Qualifications

• HNC, degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Five years' experience in a semiconductor wafer fabrication or epitaxy environment.
• Electrical qualifications such as BS th Edition would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily maintenance activities with Manufacturing and Process Engineering teams.
• Lead epitaxy equipment improvements, upgrades and installations.
• Provide input into new equipment procurement, commissioning and release to production.
• Maintain and troubleshoot MOVPE and MOCVD equipment and related systems.
• Carry out gas changes and safety procedures with SCBA.
• Oversee chemicals, process gases, spare parts, and waste disposal management.
• Guide technicians on equipment procedures and safety.
• Support equipment relocation and cleanroom reorganization.
• Assist with planned shutdowns and weekend overtime if required.
• Liaise with suppliers and service companies, including supervising external contractors.
• Develop preventive maintenance strategies to improve uptime.
• Maintain site HSE compliance and participate in emergency response.
