Job summary

Public Health Wales is seeking a qualified epidemiologist to support the Health Protection Division. You will help develop surveillance systems, conduct field investigations and epidemiological studies, and assist in research activities.

The post involves collaborating with analysts, clinicians and scientists, with potential line management of junior staff and training responsibilities, based at our Cardiff HQ and other bases as discussed.

Qualifications

• Degree in a scientific, computing or health related subject.
• Masters qualification in public health or epidemiology or equivalent experience.
• Experience with public health data and epidemiological methods.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development of surveillance systems and epidemiology studies.
• Provide support for field investigations and data analysis.
• Train and mentor junior staff; coordinate team work as required.
